News from the Directors: cancellations, postponements, etc for 2/8/2010

The Minuteman League announces the creation of the Continental Division for the spring of 2010. This division is a 16 - 18 year old division that will play its games on Sunday afternoons. Any town wishing to enter a team, please contact either Robert Skloff or Rick Amodei on the officers and directors page above. Rules for this division are TBD.

The website is being updated for the 2010 season. The 2009 rules will be updated after the 3/15/10 Town Coordinators meeting. The 2009 data (schedules, scores, standings, pitching and rosters) is still on the website. I expect to remove the 2009 data after 3/15/2010.
Key Dates for the 2010 Spring Season
- March 15^th – Town Coordinator Meeting – Sudbury Senior Center 7:00 PM.
- April 3^rd – Final team counts with team names, team strengths, available fields and preferred game times due for each division.
- April 11^th – Town Coordinators and Coaches Meeting – Sudbury Senior Center 6:00 PM.
- April 17^th – All rosters due, should be on the website or in Dale Clutter's hands.
- April 24^th – Minuteman League first games.
- April 26^th – Patriot League starts.
- April 25^th – Continental Division has its first games.

Minuteman Baseball League

2010 marks the 15th season of the Minuteman Baseball League, a spring, summer and fall recreational baseball league for players of ages 13 through 18. The league began in 1996 with teams from Maynard, Sudbury, and Wayland, and then expanded to include Westford in 1998, Concord-Carlisle in 1999, Weston in 2001, Acton-Boxborough in 2005, Littleton in 2006,Wellesley in 2007, Bolton in 2008 and Ayr/Shirley, Hudson and Groton/Dunstable in 2010.
