2013 Summer League
The 2013
Summer League will start week of 6/24 and run for 6 weeks with 2 games
per week. Single elimination playoffs are week of 8/5.
2013 Amended Balk Rule
The Balk
Rule ( 8.05 ) has been amended by Major League Baseball in the 2013
Rules. The Minuteman League has adopted this rule as has the MIAA,
which primarily plays by Major Baseball League Rules. All umpires
at the High School level have been instructed to enforce the amended
Balk Rule, 8.05. Please inform the umpires at the pregame
meeting to enforce the amended balk rule. The changes are:
• Amended Rule 8.05(b) so that the pitcher, while in contact with the
pitcher’s rubber, is
prohibited from faking a throw to third base. Penalty: Balk when runners are on
base.
• Amended Rule 8.05(c) Comment to agree with amended Rule 8.05(b) above.

The bat rule for
the 2013 season: The MIAA rules on the use of non-wood bats shall apply
to all Minuteman Baseball League players (Patriot, Minuteman, Summer, etc.).
All bats not made of a single piece of wood shall meet the Batted Ball Coefficient
of Restitution (BBCOR) performance standard (reference NFHS Rules 1-3-2 through
1-3-5), and such bats shall be labeled with a silkscreen or other
permanent certification mark.

manager and coaches user names and passwords from last year are
still valid, regardless
of what league and/or team you are associated with this season

Town
coordinators, thanks for a great job in submitting/inputting rosters the
year. This is the first year in many we have started with the
season with rosters completed. Please note you may make roster
adjustments throughout the season, but only those players entered prior
to May 7,2013 are eligible for the playoffs at the end of the season.
